Blue Badge Assessment
As part of the application process for a Blue Badge, applicants may be asked to attend the SMART Centre for an assessment. These appointments are carried out by qualified healthcare professionals, such as an Occupational Therapist, on behalf of the City of Edinburgh council. Assessments are carried out to determine if a person applying for a Blue Badge meets the eligibility criteria.

What We Do
Blue Badge applications sent to the SMART Centre by the City of Edinburgh are screened against the Code of Practice set by Transport Scotland. When there is insufficient evidence an applicant may be asked to attend assessment at the SMART Centre.
