What are the opening times for the SMART Centre?

The SMART Centre reception is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am to 4pm on Fridays. We are closed on NHS Scotland public holidays. Each service can be contacted via telephone, for further details please visit the appropriate service page.

What parking is available at the SMART Centre?

There is limited free parking available outside the SMART Centre as well as on the Astley Ainslie site. We have reserved spaces for blue badge holders. There is also paid on street parking available outwith the hospital grounds.

How do I get to the SMART Centre using public transport?

There are 3 bus stops in the vicinity: Morningside Road, Kilgraston Road and Charterhall Road. Further details are available on the Lothian Buses website: www.lothianbuses.com

What refreshment facilities are available?

The SMART Centre is based within the Astley Ainslie Hospital. There is canteen located in the Blackford Pavilion where refreshments facilities are available. The opening times may vary and directions are available on site.

Can you send appointment letters via email?

If you are scheduled for a Near Me appointment, our administration team will send your appointment details and Near Me link to your email address. We send all correspondence regarding telephone and face to face appointments via post, and are currently unable to send this information via email. However, if you are able to sign up to eComms you can receive some letters electronically. Please note, this is only available for some services.
